We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Freight Forward Coordinator

Location: Lagos

About the Role

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Freight Forward Coordinator to support efficient end-to-end project logistics and transportation operations. This role involves coordinating shipments with subcontractors and selected carriers/vessels, preparing shipping and customs documentation (including Bills of Lading, Form M, and related paperwork), tracking cargo in transit, resolving delivery issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining communication with all teams.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a BSc in Administration, Economics, or Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in contract and procurement, including at least 5 years handling Nigerian Customs clearances. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to efficiency, complaint, and cost-effective supply chain execution within a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with Freight Forward Subcontractor (FFS) the transportation for international/domestic shipments (road and ocean) and coordinating with FFS, carriers, PMT representatives, and the Company
  • Preparing and processing crucial paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and Certificates of Origin, ensuring compliance with international regulations.
  • Coordinating pick-up and delivery schedules with trucking companies, warehouses, and shipping lines.
  • Acting as an expediter to track shipments in real-time and resolve transit issues, delays, or damage.
  • Supporting Customs clearance processes in Nigeria to avoid shipping delays and penalties, ensuring compliance with regulations, customs, and port regulations.
  • Negotiating shipping rates and managing freight settlement, including reviewing invoices for terminal fees, demurrage, and detention.
  • Acting as the main point of contact between FFS, carriers, and the Company

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Administration, Economics, or Engineering. A master’s degree is an added advantage. Logistics and Freight Forward Training.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in contract and procurement, including at least 5 years handling Nigerian Customs clearances.
  • Using Transport Management tools and a clear understanding of requirements for transportation of heavy cargo, lifting, and marine transportation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Tools – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Logistics & Transportation Management Systems.
  • Managing multiple shipments, deadlines, and documentation simultaneously.
  • Addressing logistical bottlenecks and handling urgent issues.
  • Clear communication with international partners and stakeholders.
