We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Sports Editor

Location: Lagos (Remote / Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time (may be Contract)

Role Summary

• Lead daily news coverage and ensure every article serves a monetisation goal (Google Ads volume, direct ad suitability, or betting conversions).

Detailed Responsibilities

• Plan the editorial calendar 2 weeks ahead, aligning with major sports events (EPL, LaLiga, NBA, NFL, UFC).
• Assign stories to 3 content writers based on keyword research from SEO Officers.
• Personally edit and approve all articles before publication, checking for accuracy, tone, and compliance
• Monitor Google News guidelines and Core Web Vitals to maintain search visibility.
• Track pageview and affiliate CTR per article; coach writers on underperforming pieces.

Requirements

• 4+ years of sports journalism, with at least 1 year in affiliate or ad‑driven media.
• Basic knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends during live sports.
