We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Sports Editor

Location: Lagos (Remote / Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time (may be Contract)

Role Summary

• Support the Senior Editor in daily production, fact‑checking, and CMS maintenance.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Fact‑check player names, scores, and odds before publication.
• Write and optimise headlines, meta descriptions, and URL slugs for SEO.
• Upload articles into WordPress, add featured images, internal links, and category tags.
• Monitor breaking news via Twitter, RSS feeds, and sports APIs; alert the editorial team within 5 minutes of major events.
• Build and maintain odds comparison tables using provided APIs or manual updates.
• Ensure affiliate links are correctly placed and not broken.
• Remove or flag comments that violate community guidelines.

Requirements

• 2+ year writing for a blog, news site, or student publication (internships count).
• Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS.
• Excellent attention to detail.
