The PATH4AIPOCUS Project is a three-year initiative funded by the Gates Foundation. The project aligns with national and global Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Nutrition Health (MNCNH) priorities by supporting the development, validation, and scale-up of Artificial Intelligence–enabled Point-of-Care Ultrasound (AI-POCUS) within antenatal care (ANC) services in Nigeria.

The project aims to generate robust evidence on health system readiness—including service delivery regulations, policy alignment, competency frameworks, financing mechanisms, and implementation feasibility—to inform sustainable integration of AI-enabled POCUS into routine maternal healthcare in resource-constrained settings.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Finance Officer

Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Edo
Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Review financial transactions and supporting documentation to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete in line with the project award management regulations
  • Review financial reports, advances, and liquidations from subawardees, partners, vendors, etc.
  • Help ensure maintenance of all data required for processing financial transactions for assigned accounts.
  • Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorizations. Review various accounts to detect irregularities.
  • Help evaluate subrecipient financial management processes in accordance with policy and help strengthen the capacity of the partner in financial accounting and transactions.
  • Prepare delegated financial reports, as needed,
  • Help share information with subrecipients and staff on financial accounting policies and procedural compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries by the Fiscal agent or any other regulatory body
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and accounting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Certification: CPA, ACCA, or CFA certifications are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a finance officer, accountant, or similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g.,SAP,QuickBooks,Oracle,Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Core Competencies: Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
