Job Title: Programme Executive – Business Development

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Head of Business Development and Programmes

Job Brief

  • The Programme Executive – Business Development will support the delivery of the organization’s business initiatives by identifying new business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals, strengthening strategic partnerships, and driving stakeholder engagement across the downstream energy value chain.
  • The role will actively promote the organization’s services, products, and initiatives, while supporting the execution of programmes, partnerships, and flagship events.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Support the development and execution of business development strategies and plans.
  • Conduct market scanning and research to identify potential clients, sponsors, and collaborators.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, pitch decks, and partnership documents.

Partnership Development & Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate organizations, industry stakeholders, and government entities.
  • Support B2B and B2G engagement initiatives to drive collaboration and participation.
  • Assist in managing partner relationships to ensure value delivery and retention.

Programme & Initiative Support:

  • Support the planning and execution of programmes, capacity-building initiatives, and industry engagements.
  • Coordinate programme activities, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure alignment of programme delivery with organizational objectives and partner expectations.

Event Support & Promotion:

  • Support the planning and execution of the organization’s flagship event and other industry engagements.
  • Drive delegate, sponsor, and partner acquisition efforts.
  • Assist in promoting events and initiatives through direct outreach and marketing collaboration.

Marketing & Promotion of Offerings:

  • Actively promote the organization’s services, research outputs, and initiatives to target audiences.
  • Support the development of marketing materials and campaigns in collaboration with the communications team.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, industry events, and networking forums.

Reporting & Performance Tracking:

  • Track business development activities, leads, and conversion rates.
  • Prepare periodic reports on partnerships, opportunities, and programme outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder engagements and pipeline activities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of new business opportunities identified and converted
  • Growth in partnerships and stakeholder engagement
  • Contribution to revenue from programmes and events
  • Successful delivery of assigned programmes and initiatives
  • Lead generation and pipeline development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years’ experience in business development, partnerships, or programme coordination.
  • Proven success in securing and managing high value collaborations.
  • Demonstrated ability to support revenue-generating initiatives and partnerships.
