Job Title: Programme Executive – Research & Policy

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Head of Research

Job Brief

  • The Business Executive – Research & Policy will support the development of high-quality research, policy analysis, and advocacy initiatives across the downstream energy sector.
  • The role will contribute to generating insights, producing reports, engaging stakeholders, and translating research outputs into clear policy positions that support industry development and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct industry research on trends, challenges, and opportunities within the downstream energy value chain.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform reports and policy outputs.
  • Contribute to the development of research papers, white papers, and industry briefs.

Policy Analysis & Development:

  • Analyze regulatory frameworks, policies, and sector developments impacting the energy industry.
  • Support the development of policy briefs, position papers, and recommendations.
  • Translate research findings into actionable policy insights for stakeholders.

Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Support advocacy initiatives by providing research-backed insights and content.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders including regulators, operators, and development partners.
  • Assist in coordinating stakeholder consultations, roundtables, and policy discussions.

Report Writing & Content Development:

  • Draft clear, concise, and high-quality reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
  • Support the preparation of content for industry events, forums, and engagements.
  • Ensure research outputs are accessible and relevant to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Programme & Event Support:

  • Provide research and policy support for programmes, capacity-building initiatives, and events.
  • Contribute to agenda development, speaker briefs, and thematic content for industry engagements.
  • Support the integration of research insights into flagship events and initiatives.

Knowledge Management & Dissemination:

  • Support the documentation, organization, and dissemination of research outputs.
  • Assist in publishing and promoting research through digital platforms and stakeholder channels.
  • Maintain databases of research materials, policy updates, and industry insights.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Quality and timeliness of research outputs and reports.
  • Contribution to policy briefs and advocacy initiatives.
  • Stakeholder engagement and participation in policy discussions.
  • Relevance and impact of research insights on programmes and events.
  • Accuracy and depth of industry analysis.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Energy Studies, Political Science, or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
  • 3–6 years of experience in research, policy analysis, consulting, or a related role.
  • Experience in the energy sector or working with policy / regulatory environments is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
