Chemo-Pharma Laboratories Ltd. was established in 1985.The Company has an Installed Capacity of 6.0million bottles of liquid syrup and 310.2 million tablets per annum respectively. This installed capacity has for sometime now become inadequate to cater for expected growth. It has strained working capital and created excessive overheads. Also the company runs a well equipped Quality Assurance Laboratory.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Account

Location: Oregun - Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Head of Accounts provides strategic financial leadership, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, optimizing production costs, managing cash flow, and enforcing strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Controls:

  • Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Nigerian GAAP.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, including bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
  • Implement robust internal controls to prevent fraud, financial leakage, and manage risk.

Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Accounting:

  • Track production costs (raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods) to determine true cost per unit.
  • Analyze production variances (material, labor, and overheads) and collaborate with factory managers to improve efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory valuation and lead periodic stock counts and reconciliations.

Tax, Statutory, and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure timely remittance and filing of all Nigerian statutory taxes includingVAT,WHT (Withholding Tax),PAYE, and Company Income Tax.
  • Liaise with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and external auditors for statutory audits.

Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Manage working capital, monitor cash flow, and ensure availability of funds for operations and supplier payments.
  • Optimize the cash conversion cycle by managing accounts payable and receivable.

Team Leadership & Strategic Planning:

  • Mentor and supervise the accounting team, managing performance and work allocation.
  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts and investigate variances.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: B.S.c / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Certification: ICAN(Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) orACCAis mandatory/highly preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of progressive experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior role within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Salary

  • N500,000 - N3,000,000 monthly.
