Job Title: Ophthalmic Nurse

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Nurse to join our healthcare team.
  • The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality eye care services, support ophthalmologists during procedures, and ensure excellent patient care throughout diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist ophthalmologists during eye examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Prepare patients for consultations, diagnostic tests, and surgeries.
  • Administer medications, including eye drops and injections as prescribed.
  • Conduct basic eye tests (visual acuity, intraocular pressure, etc.).
  • Educate patients on eye care, treatment plans, and post-operative recovery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of ophthalmic instruments.
  • Provide support in emergency eye care when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum academic qualification of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Nursing or BSc with specialization in Ophthalmology.
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • 1–3 years nursing experience.
  • Experience in ophthalmology or eye care is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of eye conditions and treatments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
