We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Team Lead - Microfinance Business

About the Role

  • The role is responsible for managing the bank’s end‑to‑end value chain with Microfinance Banks and Institutions by originating and managing relationships that deliver commercial banking solutions, including liabilities, credit lines, and treasury products.
  • The candidate will also serve as a trusted advisor on portfolio health, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, bridging the bank’s commercial objectives with the stability of the microfinance ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire and onboard new Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and Institutions while managing and growing existing partner portfolios.
  • Drive adoption of banking technology solutions, APIs, and core banking applications for MFI/MFB partners.
  • Structure and market tailored wholesale credit, contingent facilities, and liability products aligned to MFB/MFI cash‑flow cycles.
  • Identify and execute cross‑selling opportunities across trade services, treasury, digital payments, and partnerships.
  • Develop and manage the go‑to‑market strategy for the microfinance sector, tracking revenue and balance‑sheet performance.
  • Lead due diligence for MFB onboarding, assessing credit methodology, portfolio quality, and management strength.
  • Monitor partner financial health, asset quality, and capital adequacy to manage and mitigate risk exposure.
  • Provide advisory support on credit risk management, product diversification, and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guide partners on KYC/AML and consumer protection standards.
  • Collaborate on product innovation, track market trends, and represent the bank in industry and regulatory forums.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 8–12 years of experience in commercial banking, financial institutions group (FIG), or microfinance lending.
