We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Credit Underwriting Officer (Salary & SME Finance)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

• We are seeking a Credit Underwriting Officer to assess and approve loan applications for salary earners and SMEs, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, credit policies, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze loan applications (salary & SME)
• Assess creditworthiness using financials, bank statements, and credit reports
• Identify risks and apply internal scoring models
• Structure loans (tenor, pricing, repayment) based on risk profile
• Recommend approvals, declines, or modifications
• Ensure compliance with credit policies and documentation standards
• Collaborate with Sales and Collections to improve portfolio quality

KPIs

• Approval turnaround time (TAT)
• Portfolio quality (default/NPL rate)
• Early delinquency rate
• Compliance & documentation accuracy

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 2–5+ years in credit underwriting or risk analysis (salary & SME lending preferred)
• Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills
• Good knowledge of lending regulations and credit policies
• Proficiency in Excel and financial tools
• Professional certifications (ACA, ACCA, CFA)
• Experience with credit scoring systems or loan management platforms
