Job Summary
- A pharmacy assistant supports pharmacists by managing inventory, processing prescription orders, packaging medication, and providing customer service under supervision.
- They handle administrative tasks like filing, operating cash registers, and managing patient records, playing a key role in efficient pharmacy operation.
Core Responsibilities
- Dispensing Support:Receiving prescriptions, inputting patient information, and preparing medications for pharmacist verification.
- Customer Service:Greeting customers, answering phones, and releasing prepared prescriptions to patients.
- Inventory Control:Stocking shelves, monitoring inventory levels, and ordering new supplies.
- Administrative Tasks:Maintaining patient records, filing, and processing payments via cash registers.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and knowledge of, or ability to learn, pharmacy software systems.
