We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant / Procurement Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Accountant / Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and overseeing the procurement process to ensure cost-effective and transparent acquisition of goods and services.
  • The role combines financial accountability with efficient supply chain management to support organizational operations.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
  • Prepare and process payroll in line with company policies
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and tax requirements (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT)
  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting processes
  • Assist in internal and external audits

Procurement & Supply Chain Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with organizational needs
  • Source and evaluate vendors based on price, quality, and reliability
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts
  • Ensure transparency and compliance with procurement policies
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Maintain an updated vendor database and procurement records
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment

Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to internal control systems and financial policies
  • Maintain proper documentation for all procurement and financial transactions
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service
  • Identify financial and procurement risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Prepare procurement and financial reports for management review
  • Liaise with vendors, auditors, and regulatory authorities
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)) is an added advantage
  • 3–5 years relevant experience in accounting and/or procurement
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and procurement processes
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
