We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Geologist / Mining Engineer

Location: Kachia, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities of Geologist:

  • Exploration and Resource Identification:Using geochemical and geophysical surveys to locate new deposits.
  • Ore Body Modeling & Estimation:Creating 3D maps of ore bodies, calculating tonnage, and determining grade quality.
  • Grade Control:Sampling rock faces and drill holes to guide mining teams on where to dig, ensuring high-quality ore is separated from waste rock.
  • Mine Planning and Design:Collaborating with engineers to determine optimal pit slope stability and underground support systems based on rock mechanics.
  • Environmental Compliance and Safety:Monitoring environmental impact and ensuring operations follow safety protocols, including water management and land reclamation.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis:Using specialized software (e.g., GIS) to maintain detailed, updated logs and geological reports.

Key Responsibilities of Mining Engineer:

  • Mine Planning and Design:Designing open-pit or underground mines, including shaft, tunnel, and slope stability.
  • Production and Operations:Developing operational schedules, setting production targets, and optimizing mining techniques for maximum resource recovery.
  • Safety and Compliance:Implementing safety protocols to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and environmental laws to manage risks.
  • Geological Analysis:Conducting geological and geotechnical studies to evaluate site viability and resource volume.
  • Project Management:Preparing project budgets, managing costs, and coordinating equipment and manpower to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Environmental Management:Developing reclamation plans and managing site rehabilitation to minimize environmental impact.
  • Technology Integration:Implementing new technologies, such as automation and advanced data analysis, to improve efficiency.

Salary
N100,000 - N350,000 monthly.
