Job Title: HR & Admin Manager

Location: Lagos 

Role Summary

  • Our client in the Agro commodity business is looking for a hands-on HR & Admin Manager who will primarily drive recruitment, employee management, and HR processes, while also overseeing essential administrative and operational support functions.
  • This is a ground-level execution role, not a purely strategic HR position. The candidate should be actively involved in hiring, managing people, resolving employee issues, and ensuring discipline and structure, along with supporting admin operations like warehouses, drivers, and expat arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Management (Core Focus):

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for blue-collar and junior to mid-level roles
  • Source candidates through local networks, agencies, and referrals
  • Conduct initial screenings and coordinate interviews
  • Ensure timely hiring to support business operations
  • Maintain a pipeline of candidates for critical roles.

HR Operations & Employee Management (Core Focus):

  • Manage attendance, leave records, and employee documentation
  • Ensure proper onboarding and induction of new employees
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Implement HR policies and ensure compliance with local labor laws
  • Drive employee retention and engagement initiatives
  • Maintain HR records and reporting.

Performance & Workforce Discipline:

  • Monitor workforce productivity and discipline (especially drivers, warehouse staff)
  • Support managers in handling underperformance and absenteeism
  • Ensure proper structuring of shifts, duties, and workforce allocation.

Government & Compliance (HR-related):

  • Handle statutory compliance related to employees
  • Liaise with government bodies for labor-related matters
  • Ensure all employee records and documentation are compliant.

Administration & Operations (Supporting Role):

  • Warehouse & Facility Administration
  • Oversee basic administration of warehouses and offices
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and utilities are functioning.

Fleet & Driver Coordination:

  • Monitor driver discipline, attendance, and basic compliance
  • Ensure vehicle documentation is up to date
  • Expats Accommodation Support
  • Assist in setting up accommodation for expats
  • Ensure basic facilities, utilities, and coordination.

Vendor Management:

  • Coordinate with admin vendors and service providers
  • Support cost control and basic negotiations.

Execution & Problem Solving:

  • Act as the first point of contact for people-related issues
  • Resolve day-to-day HR and admin challenges proactively
  • Ensure smooth functioning of workforce and operations with minimal escalation.

Candidate Profile
Experience:

  • 7 - 10 years in HR, recruitment, or people operations
  • Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or field-based environments preferred.

Personality:

  • Hands-on and execution-focused
  • Strong ownership and accountability
  • Practical, street-smart, and solution-oriented
  • Comfortable dealing with blue-collar workforce.

Skills:

  • Strong recruitment and people management skills
  • Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR practices
  • Good coordination and negotiation abilities
  • Basic administrative and operational understanding.

Salary
N650,000 - N900,000 monthly.
