Job Title: Financial Accountant (Genesis Cinema)

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A financial accountant manages an organization's financial records, preparing accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements) and ensuring compliance with regulations like GAAP or IFRS.
• They analyze data, reconcile accounts, handle tax filings, and support budgeting, reporting to stakeholders to ensure financial health and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for external stakeholders and management.
• Account Reconciliation: Meticulously reconciling bank accounts, ledgers, and subsidiary accounts to ensure data accuracy.
• Compliance & Tax: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Transaction Management: Recording financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, and managing payroll/expenses.
• Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits to verify accuracy and internal controls.
• Analysis & Forecasting: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, assisting in budgeting, and forecasting cash flow.

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required.
• Certification: Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or ICAN are highly valued and often required for senior roles.
• Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks), strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of tax regulations.
• Experience: Previous experience in accounting roles is generally required, with knowledge of financial controls and reporting procedures
