Job Title: Head, Risk Management

The Role

• The Head, Risk Management will own our enterprise-wide risk framework.
• You will identify, assess, and mitigate risks across credit, operational, market, and regulatory dimensions, ensuring the bank operates within defined risk appetite while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the enterprise risk management framework, policies, and methodologies.
• Lead identification, assessment, and monitoring of all risk categories including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks.
• Establish and maintain risk appetite statements aligned to the bank's strategic objectives.
• Provide risk intelligence and reporting to executive leadership and the Board Risk Committee.
• Oversee stress testing, scenario analysis, and risk modelling processes.
• Champion a risk-aware culture across all business units.
• Ensure compliance with CBN risk management guidelines and applicable regulations.
• Manage and develop a high-performing risk management team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; a Master's Degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in risk management within the banking or financial services sector.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing enterprise risk.
• Strong understanding of digital banking risk landscapes and fintech-related exposures.
• Proficiency in risk management systems and tools.
• Professional certification: FRM, PRM, or equivalent is required.
• Deep knowledge of CBN regulations, Basel frameworks, and IFRS 9 requirements.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
