Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced Auto Mechanic Technician to handle the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of diesel buses.
• The ideal candidate must be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in diesel buses
• Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance
• Repair and overhaul diesel engines, gearboxes, and transmission systems
• Maintain and repair braking systems, suspension, and steering components
• Handle electrical systems including wiring, lighting, and battery systems
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex faults
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs

Compulsory Qualifications

• Trade Test Certificate (Grade I, II, or III) mandatory.
• Minimum of OND orHND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field
• Valid technical or vocational training certification in auto mechanics/diesel engines
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety (HSE) practices
• Additional certifications in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance are an added advantage

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 5–10 years proven experience working on diesel buses or heavy-duty vehicles
• Strong practical knowledge of diesel engine systems (engine overhaul, fuel systems, injectors, turbo systems)
• Solid experience in transmission systems (manual and automatic), clutch systems, and drivetrain repairs
• Good understanding of brake systems (air and hydraulic), suspension systems, and steering alignment
• Experience handling electrical and electronic systems diagnosis in buses
• Ability to use modern diagnostic tools and interpret fault codes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must be a resident of Lagos.
