Job Title: Accountant

Role Objectives
- We are seeking a high-performing Accountant with strong commercial and financial control experience in FMCG wholesale and retail operations.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Reconcile complex financial streams across multiple locations
- Manage stock valuation and stock-taking processes with precision
- Harmonize bank facilities and credit structures
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws
Responsibilities
Financial & Accounting:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Nigerian GAAP and IFRS
- Perform timely bank reconciliations across multiple accounts (POS, loans, operational accounts)
- Manage accounts receivable and payable with strict aging control
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Stock Control (Wholesale & Retail):
- Lead monthly and quarterly stock-taking exercises
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP/accounting systems
- Investigate stock variances, shrinkage, and fraud indicators
Tax & Compliance:
- Manage VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), and statutory deductions
- Ensure full compliance with current and emerging Nigerian tax laws
- Liaise with tax consultants and regulatory authorities during audits and filings
Bank Facilities & Cash Strategy:
- Monitor and manage overdrafts, POS settlements, and trade credit facilities
- Forecast funding needs and minimize borrowing costs
- Support treasury operations for efficient cash utilization
Reporting & Business Insights
- Deliver weekly dashboards and monthly financial reports
- Provide insights on pricing, margins, promotions, and profitability
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Inventory teams for financial alignment
Systems & Internal Controls:
- Maintain integrity of accounting systems and audit trails
- Implement strong financial controls and approval workflows
- Train staff on financial discipline and compliance
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required

- Receivables & Payables – 100% Compliance

- Bank Cost Optimization – 95% Satisfaction

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, CPA) preferred
- 3–5 years experience in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce accounting
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and stock-taking
- Deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws and compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP, etc.)
- Ability to manage complex financial systems and bank reconciliations
Added Advantage:
- Experience with multi-location operations
- Treasury or bank negotiation experience
- Experience working with external auditors
