Job Title: Senior Level Frontend Developer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• The Frontend Engineering Department is responsible for building and maintaining user-facing applications, ensuring seamless, performant, and accessible interfaces across all platforms.
• The team collaborates closely with Product, Backend Engineering, Design, and QA to deliver experiences that are consistent with brand standards and responsive to user needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reusable, scalable frontend components.
• Translate UI/UX designs into pixel-perfect, responsive code.
• Optimise application performance, load times, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs.
• Implement and maintain frontend testing
• Participate in code reviews and enforce frontend best practices and coding standards.
• Maintain documentation for components, features, and internal tools.
• Troubleshoot bugs, investigate issues, and deploy fixes across environments.
• Continuously refactor code for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate to provide product training for staff as necessary.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Code Quality & Maintainability:

• Code Review Score / PR Acceptance Rate
• Frequency of bugs introduced in production (regression rate)
• Adherence to frontend standards/linting errors per sprint

Delivery:

• Feature delivery time
• Average time to resolve frontend bugs
• Ratio of rework vs. new feature delivery

Performance & UX:

• Page load speed reduction over time
• User-reported UI issues

Collaboration & Process:

• Participation in stand-ups
• Documentation completion rate for components/features
• Cross-functional feedback score (Product/Design/QA satisfaction)
• Peer mentorship or knowledge-sharing contributions.

Key Qualifications

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SASS), and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React / Next.js.
• understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous request handling, and frontend architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and code versioning tools.
• Experience in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
