One Health Resilience Initiative (OHRI) is a registered Nigerian nonprofit organization (CAC/IT/8929397) formally incorporated in 2025. OHRI is dedicated to strengthening the wellbeing of people, animals, and the environment through integrated action. We work at the intersection of public health, climate change, environmental protection, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), biodiversity, mental wellbeing, systems strengthening, and community empowerment across Adamawa, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Taraba and Abuja FCT.

Our mission is to build resilient communities and ecosystems through integrated solutions that link human, animal, and environmental health. As a young and growing organization, we are recruiting a pioneer cohort of skilled volunteers to fill critical roles across our organizational structure. These are unpaid volunteer positions designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in the development sector, with clear pathways to professional certificates, networking, and future paid employment as organizational funding grows.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: M&E Officer

Location: Lagos
Job type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Supports the MEAL Manager in collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data. Ensures routine monitoring systems are functional and data quality is maintained at the field level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement routine monitoring activities including data collection, verification, and entry.
  • Support the development of data collection tools, surveys, and focus group discussion guides.
  • Conduct field visits to supervise data collectors and verify data accuracy.
  • Clean, analyze, and visualize data using Excel or statistical software.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports for internal and external use.
  • Maintain organized M&E databases and filing systems.

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Demography, or Social Sciences.
  • 1–2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, research, or data management.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas); knowledge of SPSS or STATA is an advantage.
  • Experience with ODK, KoboToolbox, or similar mobile data platforms.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
  • Commitment of 3–6 months minimum.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Strong commitment to OHRI's mission, vision, and core values (Resilience, Inclusivity, Stewardship, Integrity, Evidence, Collaboration).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hausa or local languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in multicultural teams.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations within assigned states, including rural and underserved communities.
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, internet); advanced digital skills required for technical roles.
  • Must possess a valid means of identification (National ID, Voter's Card, Driver's License, or International Passport).
