Job Description
- The Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, coordinating technical staff, ensuring equipment functionality, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. Ensures smooth workflow, timely completion of tasks, and compliance with mechanical and operational procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise workshop staff and assign daily tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor all mechanical and technical activities within the workshop.
- Ensure proper maintenance, servicing, and repair of machines and equipment.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and compliance with industry standards.
- Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for workshop machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems and support technicians in resolving issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance, and inventory.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with the Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams for operational support.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to workshop staff.
- Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and equipment lifespan.
- Manage workshop materials, tools, and spare parts inventory.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Technical certifications are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in mechanical workshop operations or supervisory roles.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machines, and workshop tools.
- Ability to supervise staff and manage workflow efficiently.
- Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Good leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and equipment handling standards.
