About the Role

  • We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable Oil &Gascompanyseeking a competent and detail-orientedElectrical Maintenance Engineer to join its operations team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of all electrical systems in the power plant through routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • The role supports continuous plant operations by minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, preventing and managing corrosion in infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
  • This role is suited for professionals with Electrical & Maintenance experience within the Oil and gas servicing sectorwho can effectively minimize downtime and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of all electrical systems, including low, medium, and high voltage equipment.
  • Ensure continuity of power supply and stability of electrical distribution across the plant.
  • Maintenance execution and troubleshooting
  • Conduct root cause analysis of recurring electrical failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the optimization of equipment lifecycle cost through effective maintenance practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of faults, repairs, and maintenance activities
  • Conduct routine inventory checks of electrical spares to ensure availability and readiness.
  • Provide input into manpower, materials, and service contract requirements.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and technical documentation as required by the Team Lead.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Support initiatives to improve MTBF and reduce MTTR.
  • Undertake any other assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. / MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Engineering field and the power industry
  • Strong Technical Knowledge of Power plant Electrical systems, including low, medium, and high voltage equipment,
  • Experience in switchgears, motors, UPS/DC systems, transformers, and auxiliary
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and statutory regulations applicable to electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures for Electrical maintenance
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, inspection, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures
  • Experience in 132 kV or higher HV systems is an added advantage
  • Professional certification – COREN is an added advantage.
