Job Title: Health Advisor

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Description

  • Health advisor is a professional who provides guidance on health, safety, and disease prevention, typically acting as a liaison between patients and medical services or supporting workplace health initiatives.
  • They often assess needs, provide information via telephone or in person, and help direct individuals to appropriate care, requiring strong communication skills and, in many cases, medical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities and Types

  • 111/Patient Health Advisor: Handles phone inquiries, using clinical decision-support systems to direct patients to appropriate care (e.g., GP, ER, self-care).
  • Occupational Health Advisor: Promotes wellness within companies, conducting workplace assessments, managing medical records, and educating employees on health.
  • Public Health Advisor: Focuses on community health, working to control, research, and prevent the spread of diseases.
  • Medical Advisor (Pharmaceutical/Industry): Offers scientific and strategic input to commercial teams, ensuring medical claims are accurate and compliant.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Communication: Ability to convey complex health information in clear, simple terms, often using active listening and empathy.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Understanding of health protocols, safety guidelines, and medical procedures.
  • Problem-Solving & Strategy: Identifying risks (e.g., in a workplace) and proposing actionable solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records, such as medical questionnaires or incident reports.

Salary
N100,000 - N350,000 monthly.
