They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Relationship Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The role focuses on proactive sales, referral development, cross-selling, digital channel adoption and portfolio quality.
  • The job holder drives deposit mobilisation and income generation through targeted campaigns, relationship management and market development while ensuring compliance with KYC, AML/CFT and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
Deposit mobilisation and sales:

  • Achieve growth across KPIs: liability mobilisation, CASA and fixed deposits, new funded accounts, income generation, and e-banking product adoption.
  • Actively seek new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, merchant and payroll initiatives, and community outreach.

Account opening and onboarding:

  • Open and convert funded accounts; ensure KYC/AML documentation is complete and accurate before funding.
  • Explain product features, fees and benefits; onboard customers to digital channels (mobile, USSD, internet banking) to increase transactional volumes.

Customer relationship management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and small business customers; conduct periodic account reviews and needs assessments.
  • Cross-sell and bundle products (standing orders, payroll solutions, e-wallets) to deepen wallet share.

Portfolio and risk management:

  • Maintain a healthy portfolio and deposit mix; monitor account activity and retention.
  • Identify potential credit or lending opportunities and refer qualified prospects to the credit team; support documentation but do not own collections unless assigned.

Market intelligence and product development:

  • Monitor competition and gather marketplace information on pricing, products and promotions.
  • Recommend changes to products, services or processes based on market feedback and performance results.

Requirements

  • HND / BSc Degree in Business, Finance, Social Science or related field.
  • 3-5 years in retail banking, microfinance, or customer-facing sales role with demonstrable deposit mobilisation or business development results preferred.
  • Microfinance certification or relevant banking training is an advantage.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills focused on deposit products.
  • Proficiency with the bank’s core systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
