We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer

Location: Lagos  
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a vigilant and proactive HSE Officer to oversee the health and safety protocols of our operations.
  • You will be responsible for identifying workplace hazards, implementing safety policies, and ensuring that our team and facilities meet all regulatory standards.
  • Your goal is to create a "zero-harm" environment where safety is integrated into every business process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular audits of the office, warehouse, and fleet operations to identify potential hazards or non-compliance.
  • Policy Development: Create and update Health and Safety manuals, emergency response plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Training & Induction: Organize safety drills (Fire, First Aid) and conduct safety induction training for all new employees and contractors.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation into any workplace accidents or "near-misses," and provide detailed reports on how to prevent recurrence.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure the company stays updated with the Lagos State Safety Commission (LASBCA) and other federal safety regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the availability and serviceability of safety equipment (Fire extinguishers, PPE, First Aid kits).

Requirements
Education & Experience:

  • Education: B.Sc / HND qualification in Public Health, Environmental Science, Biochemistry, or a related Healthfield.
  • Certification: Possession of ISPON (Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria) or NEBOSH International General Certificate is a major advantage.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a safety-related role (experience in logistics or manufacturing is preferred).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Hazard Identification: A sharp eye for detail to spot risks that others might miss.
  • Communication: Ability to explain complex safety rules in simple terms to staff at all levels.
  • Crisis Management: Remains calm and decisive during emergencies or medical situations.
  • Report Writing: Strong documentation skills to maintain records for legal and insurance purposes.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be physically fit and capable of conducting site inspections.
  • High level of integrity and the ability to enforce rules strictly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data tracking and reporting.

  • Salary: Competitive monthly pay (N120,000 – N200,000 depending on certifications).
