Job Description

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Lead a team of technicians and engineers to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of process systems in industries such as Oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, or utilities. installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • This role is suited for professionals with Electrical & Maintenance experience within the Oil and gas servicing sector who can effectively minimize downtime and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure I&C systems reliability & availability by leading maintenance of all instrumentation, control, and automation systems for Gas Turbines (GT), Balance of Plant (BOP), and auxiliaries.
  • Optimize MTBF and MTTR through predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance strategies
  • Oversee routine preventive & corrective maintenance planning and execution for I&C systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve I&C faults and minimize response time to I&C issues.
  • Review, approve, and implement maintenance designs, work scopes, and method statements
  • Support initiatives to improve MTBF and reduce MTTR.
  • Maintain and optimize DCS, PLC, SCADA, turbine control and protection systems, including MK V, MK VI, Sentinel, and Egatrol, where applicable
  • Close all Trouble Memos within defined timelines
  • Ensure accuracy and traceability of instrument calibration and control logic documentation
  • Ensure continuous improvement and periodic reporting
  • Responsible for team leadership & capability development – plan & optimize manpower, materials, and contract resources as well as conduct performance reviews of team members
  • Undertake any other assigned tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with QSHE policies, statutory regulations, and OEM recommendations.

Requirements

  • B.Sc / HND in Electrical Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Control Engineering, Computer Engineering / Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 2-7 years of experience in the Engineering field and the power industry. A postgraduate degree is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant I&C systems, automation, and control architectures.
  • Knowledge of electric power generation
  • Expertise in calibration, testing, and commissioning of process instruments and analyzers.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Practical experience in calibration of process control instruments and field devices.
  • Basic knowledge of control and automation systems; experience with MK V, MK VI, Sentinel, and Egatrol is an added advantage.
  • Expertise in calibration, testing, and commissioning of process instruments and analyzers
  • Familiarity with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations related to control and instrumentation systems.
  • Awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to electrical and I&C equipment.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, control narratives, loop diagrams, and logic drawings
  • Leadership competencies.
  • Professional certification: COREN.
