Job Summary

• The IT Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring system efficiency, data security, and uninterrupted technology operations.
• The role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and implementing IT solutions that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
IT Systems Management:

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks
• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functionality
• Manage servers, network systems, and internet connectivity

Technical Support:

• Provide first-line support to staff on IT-related issues
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems promptly
• Set up workstations, email accounts, and access rights for new employees

Network Administration:

• Maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and ensure network security
• Monitor network usage and address connectivity issues
• Configure routers, switches, and firewalls

Data Security & Backup:

• Implement and enforce IT security policies
• Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery processes
• Protect systems against viruses, malware, and cyber threats

Software & Systems Maintenance:

• Update systems with patches and upgrades
• Manage business applications and ensure they meet operational needs
• Maintain IT documentation and inventory of hardware/software

IT Compliance & Policy Implementation:

• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and regulatory requirements
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
• Support audits related to IT systems

Vendor & Asset Management:

• Liaise with external vendors for procurement and maintenance
• Track IT assets and manage lifecycle (purchase, usage, disposal)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 2–5 years of relevant IT support or systems administration experience
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA (advantage)

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of networking, hardware, and operating systems
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
