Job Title: Agronomist
Location: Oyo

Job Summary
- The Agronomist will be responsible for managing and improving crop production systems to support feed mill operations.
- The role involves soil management, crop planning, yield optimisation, and the provision of technical expertise to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality raw materials for poultry feed production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement crop production plans (e.g., maize, soybeans) to support feed mill requirements.
- Conduct soil analysis and recommend appropriate fertilisation and soil-improvement practices.
- Monitor crop growth, identify pests and diseases, and recommend effective control measures.
- Advise on irrigation, planting schedules, and harvesting techniques to optimise yield.
- Collaborate with farm managers and out-growers to ensure the best agronomic practices are followed.
- Evaluate and recommend improved seed varieties and farming technologies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, yields, and input usage.
- Provide training and technical support to farm staff and partner farmers.
- Conduct field trials and research to improve productivity and sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in crop production or agronomy
- Experience working in commercial farming or agro-industrial environments is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian agricultural practices and climate conditions
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of soil health, crop nutrition, and pest management
- Ability to interpret agronomic data and provide actionable insights
- Good communication and training skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and farm management tools
- Ability to work independently and in remote field locations.
