Job Title: Spare Parts & Continuous Improvement Engineer

Job Summary

  • The Spare Parts & Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end management of spare parts, including specification, procurement coordination, inventory control, storage optimization, and utilization monitoring.
  • The role ensures critical spare parts availability while optimizing inventory levels and costs.
  • In addition, the engineer will lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects aimed at improving equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational performance.
  • The position also requires developing strong relationships with equipment suppliers, identifying new suppliers, and implementing improved systems and processes for spare parts and maintenance management.

 

Key ResponsibilitiesSpare Parts Management:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of spare parts from identification and specification through procurement, storage, and utilization.
  • Define and maintain critical spare parts lists for production and facility equipment.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure availability of essential spare parts and prevent equipment downtime.
  • Monitor spare parts consumption and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain spare parts catalogues, technical specifications, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely purchasing and delivery of spare parts.
  • Optimize storage systems and inventory organization in the spare parts warehouse.
  • Implement and maintain spare parts tracking systems (ERP/CMMS).
  • Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliation.

Supplier Management & Technical Sourcing:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers and spare parts suppliers.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to improve quality, availability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Request quotations and evaluate technical compliance of spare parts.
  • Support procurement during technical negotiations with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for technical support, troubleshooting, and equipment improvements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, spare parts management, and equipment reliability.
  • Implement process improvements using engineering and reliability principles.
  • Develop better systems for spare parts tracking, planning, and forecasting.
  • Analyze equipment failures and propose engineering solutions to reduce recurrence.
  • Support implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.

Engineering Projects:

  • Participate in engineering projects related to equipment upgrades, modifications, or installations.
  • Support equipment improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors during project execution.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in maintenance engineering, spare parts management, or reliability engineering in an industrial environment.
  • Experience working with spare parts and maintenance management system in addition to AutoCAD .
  • Strong technical understanding of industrial equipment and spare parts.
