Job Title: OTP Supervisor

Location: Borno

About the Job

  • The OTP Supervisor oversees the implementation and quality of Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) services.
  • This role ensures effective treatment of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) cases in accordance with national and organizational guidelines and strengthens staff capacity and ensures proper use of resources.

Main Responsibilties

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of OTP sites to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Ensure proper implementation of screening, admission, treatment, follow-up, and discharge procedures for SAM cases at the OTP.
  • Ensure adherence to national and organizational IMAM/OTP guidelines and protocols.
  • Monitor the quality of care provided to beneficiaries at OTP sites.
  • Conduct regular site visits and supportive supervision to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Identify gaps in service delivery and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Train, mentor, and support nutrition staff, community volunteers, and health workers.
  • Strengthen staff capacity on SAM treatment, protocols, and reporting tools.
  • Promote best practices in Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM).
  • Monitor the availability, proper use, storage, and distribution of therapeutic foods (e.g., RUTF) and medical supplies.
  • Ensure stock levels are adequate and prevent stock-outs or misuse.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams for timely replenishment of supplies.
  • Review OTP registers and records to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
  • Ensure proper data collection, entry, and management at site level.

Compile and submit regular reports on:

  • Admissions
  • Recoveries
  • Defaulters
  • Mortality rates
  • Program performance indicators
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support community mobilization activities to enhance early case identification and referral.
  • Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to strengthen program outreach.
  • Coordinate with health facilities and other partners involved in nutrition services.
  • Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies and national guidelines.
  • Maintain accountability and transparency in program implementation.
  • Uphold safeguarding, protection, and ethical standards in all program activities.
