Job Title: Nutritionist

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• A nutritionist is a health professional who studies and advises on the impact of food and nutrition on human health.
• They assess, develop personalized meal plans, and counsel clients to manage weight, improve energy, and promote healthy lifestyles.
• They frequently work with healthy individuals or communities, distinguishing them from registered dietitians who often provide medical nutrition therapy.

Key Responsibilities and Roles

• Nutritional Assessment: Evaluating a client's health, dietary habits, and wellness goals.
• Meal Planning: Developing tailored, nutrient-dense meal plans that consider personal preferences and budgets.
• Counseling & Education: Advising on nutrition, food preparation, and healthy lifestyle choices to prevent disease.
• Specialized Guidance: Offering advice on sports nutrition, weight management, and, in some settings, supporting clinical, chronic disease management.

Settings and Qualifications

• Work Environments: They often work in hospitals, clinics, fitness centers, community centers, and as private practitioners.
• Licensure: Unlike dietitians, in many regions, the title "nutritionist" is not strictly regulated, meaning training can range from specific certifications (e.g., Certified Clinical Nutritionist) to advanced university degrees.
• Distinction: While all dietitians can be considered nutritionists, not all nutritionists have the licensing of a registered dietitian.

Salary
N100,000 - N350,000 monthly.
