Job Title: Narrative Supervisor

Location: Remote (Africa)
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

  • We are building a distributed narrative around an anonymous, high-end artist.
  • Our goal is to generate a broad range of stories, articles, reviews, opinion pieces, and social media content, including video, published across many different media outlets—all telling aconsistent, believable narrativeabout the artist from many different external voices.
  • We are not building a single "artist voice." We are building achorus.
  • You will be the conductor of that chorus.
  • As Narrative Supervisor, you will own the narrative bible, assign content briefs to a team of 3–4 part-time creators, review and edit their work for consistency and quality, and manage the publication pipeline.
  • You will report directly to the project lead, everything else flows through you.
  • This is a role for anorganized, detail-oriented editor, writer,creator and managerwho understands brand voice and can lead a small creative team with minimal supervision from the project lead.

Key Responsibilities
What Success Looks Like:

  • Writers/creators consistently produce high-quality, on-brief content
  • No contradictions or factual errors across different pieces
  • Publications secured on a regular basis
  • You spend less than 1 hour per week answering my questions (you run the show)
  • Maintain theNarrative Bible(1-page core truths about the artist that cannot change)
  • Assign content briefs to 3–4 writers (e.g., "Write a 500-word opinion piece about anonymous artists for Medium")
  • Review and edit all content before publication (consistency, accuracy, tone)
  • Manage publication pipeline (and track what has been submitted, accepted, rejected)
  • Regular check-ins with writers (including weekly 15–20 minutes catch up each)
  • Report to project lead weekly on progress, challenges, and publications secured
  • Research new publication opportunities
  • Maintain content calendar and tracking spreadsheet
  • Write your own pieces

Requirements (Must-Haves)

  • Previous experience editing or managing others
  • Excellent written English and strong editing skills
  • Highly organized: comfortable with technology
  • Ability to give clear, constructive feedback without being harsh
  • Discreet and trustworthy: must sign a strict NDA
  • Reliable internet access and a device to work on
  • Organisational and management experience, with a knack for seeing the bigger
  • Flexibility in thought process, see failure as a learning opportunity, and be resilient
  • Adept at connecting the dots, and reusing content in a way that maximises revenue
  • High energy/drive to be the best

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with the art or luxury space
  • Experience growing a brand aggressively without using paid marketing
  • Experience pitching to publications
  • Experience working with remote teams

Compensation
$140 - $220 / month (depending on experience).
