Job Title: Cashier
Location: Dangote Cement, Congo
Job Summary
- The Cashier is responsible for managing the cash register and ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions at the point of sale.
- He or she ensures the accurate distribution of funds in accordance with internal authorizations, maintains accurate records of cash register transactions, and ensures compliance with financial and internal control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Functional:
- Greet customers with courtesy and professionalism
- Process payments (cash or other forms of payment)
- Accurately record transactions
- Ensure the accuracy of amounts collected and change given
- Keep the cash register up to date and perform daily cash closings
- Manage authorized disbursements in accordance with internal procedures
- Verify and retain supporting documents (invoices, vouchers, tickets, receipts)
- Report any discrepancies or cash variances to management
- Comply with security, confidentiality, and internal control policies
- Maintain an organized and secure workstation
Profile Required
- B.S.c Degree or its equivalent in accounting or a related discipline.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience is required.
- Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, dashboards)
- Experience with systems (SAP, or similar)
- Ability to manage and maintain supporting documents
- Record transactions and quickly identify discrepancies or cash register anomalies. Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate analyses clearly
- Attention to detail
