We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Community Health Officer

Location: Owerri, Imo
Employment Type: Part-time

Responsibilties

  • To help protect and improve the health of communities, states, and countries by focusing on prevention
  • To track disease outbreaks, educate the public on health habits, create safety policies, and ensure access to health services
  • To work to prevent disease, injury, and illness before they occur
  • Disease Control
  • Tracking the spread of infectious diseases and managing responses to outbreaks
  • Creating policies and laws that keep people safe, such as environmental regulations, food safety standards, and smoking restrictions
  • Creating awareness about healthy behaviors, including nutrition, mental health, and addiction prevention
  • Conducting research to understand health trends in populations to inform better decision
  • Teach communities about behaviors that promote wellness
  • Monitor food, water, and air quality to protect public health
  • Planning, supporting, and evaluating health programs or community-based initiatives
  • Community health improvement, disease prevention, and program implementation
  • Conducting health education, awareness campaigns, etc

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health Science, Medicine (MBBS), Nursing, Pharmacy, or Social SciencesStrong written and verbal communication skills for reports and community advocacy
  • Willingness to travel or work in rural/underserved communities.

Required Skills:

  • Good verbal/written communication

  • Proficiency in health education
  • Designing and implementing programs that track outcomes and improve efficiency
  • Organizing, and executing projects within budgets and timelines
  • Developing and implementing health policies at local, state, or federal levels
  • Managing teams and collaborating with external partners for better health outcomes.

Salary
N80,000 - N130,000 monthly.
