Job Description

• The Machinery Maintenance Officer are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all machinery and equipment within Mshel Blocks and Machinery.
• This role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute the maintenance and repair of all machinery and other equipment across various sites.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule to ensure machines operate at peak efficiency.
• Perform routine inspections to identify any potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
• Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues with machinery to minimize downtime.
• Lead the troubleshooting process for all major repairs, collaborating with technicians as needed.
• Coordinate external repairs and vendor service when necessary.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies to ensure parts are available for repairs.
• Work closely with the procurement Team to order and maintain appropriate stock levels of machine components.
• Keep detailed maintenance logs and records for each machine, documenting repairs, service dates, and parts replaced.
• Provide regular reports on equipment performance, including any recurring issues or downtime metrics.
• Prepare and submit budget proposals for maintenance needs and spare parts acquisition.
• Train machine operators and production staff on basic troubleshooting, operational best practices, and preventive maintenance.
• Supervise and guide junior maintenance staff, ensuring safety standards are adhered to.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Promote and enforce proper safety protocols during machine operation, repair, and maintenance.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure machines are operating within safe parameters.
• Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and extend machinery lifespan
• Recommend upgrades or changes to machinery that could improve production efficiency or reduce maintenance costs.

Salary Range
N200,000 -N300,000 / Month.
