Job Title: Director of News

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of News to lead the editorial and operational direction of a 24-hour news station across Television, Digital, and Radio platforms.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong newsroom leadership experience, excellent editorial judgment, and a proven ability to manage fast-paced, multimedia news operations while driving audience growth and content excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee newsroom operations across TV, Digital, and Radio platforms.
- Drive editorial strategy, news planning, and breaking news coverage.
- Ensure accurate, balanced, timely, and high-quality news output.
- Supervise Editors, Producers, Reporters, Anchors, and Digital teams.
- Develop innovative content and audience engagement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with media regulations, editorial policies, and journalism ethics.
- Manage newsroom resources, workflows, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Programming, Production, Digital, and Engineering teams.
- Represent the station at industry events and stakeholder engagements.
- Mentor and develop newsroom talent and leadership capacity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field.
- Master’s Degree or professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in broadcast journalism and newsroom operations across TV, Digital, and Radio.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a reputable media organization.
- Strong experience managing live news and 24-hour newsroom operations.
- Excellent understanding of digital journalism, newsroom technology, and audience engagement strategies.
- Strong knowledge of media laws, editorial ethics, and regulatory compliance.
