Job Summary
- The Electrical & Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of factory machines and equipment to ensure smooth production operations.
- The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems, machine maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on factory machines and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and resolve them promptly.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring, panels, motors, and control systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize machine downtime.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and production emergencies.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and spare parts usage.
- Support installation and setup of new machines and equipment.
- Ensure tools and maintenance equipment are properly handled and stored.
- Liaise with production teams to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of OND, Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years relevant experience in factory machine maintenance and electrical work.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and machine repair.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and preventive maintenance practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation is an added advantage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
- Factory/production environment.
- May require shift work or overtime during machine breakdowns or urgent production schedules.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 monthly.
