Job Title: Shop Assistant

Location: Opebi, Ikeja - Lagos

Job Summary

• We are looking for a smart, courteous, and customer-focused Shop Assistant to support the daily operations of our retail store.
• The ideal candidate will assist customers, maintain a clean and organised shop environment, manage stock, and ensure excellent customer service at all times.
• The successful candidate must be energetic, trustworthy, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Proximity to the preferred job location is essential.
• Applicants must reside in or very close to Ikeja, Ogba, Agege, Maryland, or Ojota.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and attend to customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Assist customers in selecting products and responding to inquiries
• Arrange and display products neatly on shelves and display units
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages when necessary
• Receive, label, and organise incoming goods and supplies
• Handle sales transactions and issue receipts where applicable
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organisation of the shop
• Ensure products are properly priced and tagged
• Support inventory counting and stock-taking activities
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary
• Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales targets
• Ensure security of products and company property.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification
• Previous retail or customer service experience is an added advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Basic numerical and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Honest, responsible, and hardworking.
