Job Title: Legal Assistant

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Assistant (NYSC) to support our Legal team in Lagos.
  • The ideal candidate must have completed Law School (B.L) and be currently serving in Lagos under the NYSC program.
  • The role involves providing support on contracts, litigation matters, legal documentation, and compliance activities in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and agreements.
  • Support the Legal team in litigation matters, including preparing case files and coordinating with external counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and provide summaries on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, and internal memoranda.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, case records, and documentation.
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance-related activities.
  • Monitor litigation timelines, court dates, and legal deadlines.
  • Liaise with internal departments regarding contract documentation and legal requests.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Legal department when required.

Requirements

  • LL.B degree from a recognized university.
  • Must have completed Law School (B.L).
  • Must be a current NYSC corps member posted to Lagos.
  • Basic knowledge of contract drafting and litigation processes.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Skills:

  • Interest in corporate law, fintech regulation, or dispute resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
