Role Overview
- The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales function, driving revenue growth, and building a high-performing sales team.
- This role oversees daily sales operations, sets targets, tracks performance, and ensures consistent conversion of leads into loyal customers.
- The ideal candidate combines strong sales leadership with hands-on execution—ensuring both individual and team targets are met while maintaining excellent customer experience standards.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve weekly and monthly revenue targets.
- Set clear sales targets for the team and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, customer segments, and market channels.
- Drive promotions, campaigns, and seasonal sales initiatives to boost revenue.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Lead, supervise, and coach the sales team to achieve high performance.
- Monitor daily sales activities, conversion rates, and pipeline management.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback, training, and support.
- Enforce accountability, discipline, and a results-driven sales culture.
Sales Operations & Execution:
- Oversee customer engagement across WhatsApp, phone, and social platforms.
- Ensure fast response times, quality communication, and high conversion standards.
- Optimize the sales process from inquiry to order confirmation and follow-up.
- Collaborate with marketing to align campaigns with sales objectives.
Customer Experience & Retention:
- Ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service across all touchpoints.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction.
- Drive customer retention strategies, including follow-ups and loyalty initiatives.
- Handle escalated customer issues and ensure timely resolution.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Track and analyze sales performance, trends, and team productivity.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales reports to management.
- Use data insights to improve conversion rates, pricing strategies, and product positioning.
- Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and pipeline tracking.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with operations and logistics to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Align with production planning to anticipate demand and avoid stock issues.
- Support product development with insights from customer feedback and sales trends.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in sales, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in FMCG, food production, or e-commerce is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- Deep understanding of sales funnels, conversion strategies, and customer behavior.
- High level of accountability, ownership, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Compensation
- Salary: N250,000 / Month
- Performance-based bonuses tied to revenue and team performance.
