Job Title: Human Resources Officer
Location: Lagos
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Support end-to-end recruitment activities including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and reference checks.
- Prepare employment documentation including offer letters and contracts.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction programmes for new employees.
- Maintain recruitment trackers and candidate records.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee enquiries and HR-related concerns.
- Support the resolution of workplace issues in line with company policy.
- Promote positive employee relations and engagement initiatives.
- Assist in disciplinary and grievance processes as required.
Performance Management:
- Support the implementation of performance management processes.
- Monitor appraisal timelines and documentation.
- Assist managers in tracking employee performance improvement plans.
HR Administration & Records:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
- Prepare HR reports, letters, and other documentation.
- Monitor staff attendance, leave records, and other HR metrics.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of employee information.
Training & Development:
- Coordinate staff training programmes and learning initiatives.
- Maintain training records and evaluate participation.
- Support organisational development and employee capacity-building initiatives.
Payroll & Benefits Support:
- Support payroll preparation by providing accurate employee data.
- Assist with administration of employee benefits and statutory remittances.
- Monitor probation confirmations, promotions, and salary adjustments.
Policy Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and labour regulations.
- Support the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Promote adherence to workplace ethics and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related disciplines
- Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, etc.) is an advantage.
Experience:
- 2 - 4 years relevant HR experience.
- Experience in a school or structured organisation is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Good knowledge of HR principles and labour regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR systems.
