About the Role
- AlphaBeta Consulting LLP is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Unit Head, Programme Management Office (PgMO) to provide leadership, oversight, and governance for the organisation’s programmes and projects across technology and non‑technology functions.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and enforcing programme management frameworks, coordinating the delivery of multiple complex projects, and ensuring that initiatives are executed within agreed scope, time, cost, quality, and risk parameters while delivering measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and day‑to‑day oversight of the Programme Management Office (PgMO)
- Design, implement, and maintain project and programme governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and controls
- Oversee the delivery of multiple programmes and projects from initiation through transition to operations
- Coordinate cross‑functional project delivery across technology and non‑technology units, including sister companies
- Establish and manage reporting dashboards, project performance reviews, and executive decision‑support insights
- Line‑manage and develop PgMO staff, including project managers, officers, and administrators
- Drive project performance across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Ensure effective portfolio management, benefits realization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Champion automation of programme and project execution through appropriate software tools
- Maintain oversight of PgMO budgets, KPIs, and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements
Key Performance Indicators
- Percentage of projects and programmes delivered on time, within budget, and in line with business cases
- Accuracy, timeliness, and frequency of programme reporting and dashboards
- Portfolio health indicators (RAG status, benefits realization, ROI)
- PgMO maturity level and governance compliance
- Stakeholder and customer satisfaction
Requirements & Competencies
- Strong portfolio, programme, and project management experience
- Proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑stream programmes successfully
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem‑solving capabilities
- Expertise in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
- High emotional intelligence and people‑management capability
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, compliance, and data protection (GDPR, NDPA 2023)
- Demonstrated ability to drive results under pressure and within tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic & Information Engineering, or related fields
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile‑PM, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) are strongly recommended
- 12–14 years of functional experience in ICT, project and programme management, or related fields.
Salary
N1,000,000 - N1,200,000 per month.
