Fadac Resources and Services Limited - Our client is a group of passionate and hard-working action-takers who are in the business of eradicating trash. They research and develop new technologies with the aim of reducing plastic pollution in these areas.

They are currently recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Ibafo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and monthly reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements).
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Provide regular financial updates and variance reports to management, identifying and explaining discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop annual budgets and forecasts for multiple departments.
  • Monitor budget performance, providing insights into cost-saving opportunities and revenue improvements.
  • Recommend financial strategies to streamline operations and support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including VAT, sales tax, and corporate income tax.
  • Prepare and file required tax returns and financial documentation accurately and on time.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and applicable regulations, ensuring the company’s financial practices are up-to-date.
  • Track recycling and waste management costs, allocating expenses appropriately across various product lines or processing stages.
  • Analyze the profitability of different recycling operations or service lines, suggesting cost-optimization measures.
  • Assist in pricing strategies by providing data on operational costs, labor, and materials.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, recommend and implement solutions to improve financial workflows.
  • Support periodic audits, coordinating with auditors to provide required information and documentation.
  • Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure alignment on financial processes and budgetary goals.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, banks, vendors) and serve as a point of contact for finance-related inquiries.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Accounting or any other related course
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
  • Relevant professional certification is a plus
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
