Job Summary

• The Senior Accounts Payable Officer will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls.
• The ideal candidate must have strong experience in manufacturing environments, sound knowledge of ERP systems, and the ability to manage high-volume transactions efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and verify supplier invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents accurately and timely manner
• Prepare and process payment vouchers (PV) in accordance with company policies and approval procedures
• Ensure proper matching of Purchase Orders (PO), Goods Received Notes (GRN), and supplier invoices before payment processing
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor accounts and reconcile supplier statements regularly
• Monitor outstanding payables and ensure the timely settlement of obligations to vendors and service providers
• Handle accruals related to supplier expenses and ensure the completeness of financial records
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Review expense classifications and ensure transactions are posted to the correct general ledger accounts
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies, financial procedures, and audit requirements
• Prepare accounts payable reports, aging analysis, and other schedules for management review
• Support internal and external audit exercises by providing required documentation and reconciliations
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of all payable transactions
• Identify and recommend improvements to accounts payable processes and controls
• Supervise junior payable officers where applicable

Requirements
Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Additional professional qualifications will be an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years’ accounting experience with strong exposure to accounts payable functions in manufacturing companies
• Experience in FMCG, poultry, or industrial manufacturing environments is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and accounting workflows
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Payment Voucher (PV)
  • Purchase Order (PO)
  • Goods Received Note (GRN)
  • Vendor reconciliation processes
• Good knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• High level of integrity and professionalism
