Job Title: Lathe Machine Engineer

Job Summary
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Engineer to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lathe machines within our production workshop.
- The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of machining operations, precision measurement, equipment maintenance, and engineering drawings to support efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Produce precision components according to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up machines, select appropriate tools, and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on lathe machines and workshop equipment.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and machine efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of CNC programming is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of machining techniques, tools, and workshop practices.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in industrial or factory environments.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
