Job Title: Gas Generator Operator

Location: Sango Ota, Ogun

Job Summary

• We are seeking a competent and experienced Gas Generator Operator to manage the operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of gas-powered generators to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for plant operations.
• The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of gas generator systems, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas generators to ensure efficient and continuous power generation.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on generators and associated equipment.
• Monitor generator performance indicators, fuel supply systems, pressure levels, and temperature readings.
• Identify faults and carry out basic troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Maintain daily operational logs and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and external technicians during major repairs or servicing.
• Respond promptly to generator faults and emergency shutdown situations.
• Ensure proper housekeeping of the generator house and surrounding areas.
• Support efforts to minimize downtime and improve equipment efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND/Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ proven experience operating gas generators in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of gas engine operations, generator systems, and power distribution.
• Ability to troubleshoot operational issues effectively.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and maintenance practices for industrial generators.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and operational guidelines.
• Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
• Physically fit and able to work shifts when required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in manufacturing plants or factory environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices is an added advantage.
