Job Summary

• The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and efficient operation of poultry farm machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the maintenance and repair of poultry farm equipment and mechanical systems
• Ensure smooth operation of farm machinery, including feeding systems, drinking systems, ventilation systems, cooling pads, egg collection systems, generators, boilers, conveyors, and other poultry equipment
• Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime
• Diagnose mechanical faults and supervise timely troubleshooting and repairs
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability
• Supervise maintenance technicians and ensure work is carried out according to safety and operational standards
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues
• Ensure proper lubrication, calibration, and servicing of mechanical equipment
• Coordinate spare parts requirements and monitor inventory of maintenance materials
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment history reports
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the farm
• Support the installation and commissioning of new poultry equipment and machinery
• Work closely with farm operations teams to ensure uninterrupted production activities
• Monitor utility systems, including water lines, air systems, and other mechanical infrastructure
• Ensure proper housekeeping within the workshop and maintenance areas
• Train and guide junior technicians on maintenance best practices and safety procedures

Educational Qualification

• HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Professional certification in maintenance or engineering will be an added advantage

Experience & Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, with strong exposure to poultry farm equipment and machinery
• Prior experience in poultry farms, agriculture, FMCG, or food processing industries is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance systems
• Hands-on experience with poultry farm equipment and mechanical operations
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience supervising maintenance teams and contractors
• Knowledge of safety procedures and engineering best practices
• Proficiency in maintenance reporting and documentation
• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns
• Good communication and leadership skills
• High level of responsibility, integrity, and attention to detail
• The ideal candidate must possess strong hands-on technical experience in poultry farm operations, preventive maintenance systems, and equipment supervision to ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
