Job Title: Administrative Accountant

Location: Lagos

Description

  • We are seeking an accountant to bring financial clarity, control, and structure to our business.
  • We are seeking an experienced administrative accountant to take ownership of our financial structure, compliance obligations, and internal administrative systems.
  • This is not a training role.
  • We are looking for someone already practising, already trusted with responsibility, and comfortable operating independently.
  • You will be responsible for keeping the business financially sound, compliant, and properly structured as it grows.
  • If you enjoy order, clarity, and accountability, this role will feel natural to you.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports
  • Oversee payroll services, staff records, and personal information systems
  • Ensure proper organisation of income, expenses, and cash flow
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian business regulatory requirements
  • Handle tax regulation, filings, and statutory remittances
  • Maintain alignment with government policies and financial regulations
  • Act as the internal point of accountability for business compliance

Auditing and Controls:

  • Prepare the company for internal and external audits
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails
  • Identify financial risks and recommend control improvements

Administrative Support:

  • Support management with accurate financial insights
  • Maintain organised records across finance and administration
  • Ensure payroll structures and organisational records remain current and compliant

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess a bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of experience.

Required Experience and Capability
We are specifically looking for someone with demonstrated, hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Business compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Auditing and audit preparation
  • Government policy and financial regulation
  • Tax regulation and statutory filings
  • Payroll services and personal information systems
  • Organisational and payroll structure management
  • Professional accounting qualification or equivalent practical experience is expected.
