About the Role
- We are seeking a high-caliber, commercially astute Sales Operations Manager to lead our enterprise-wide sales and marketing engine. Sitting at the helm of our sales organogram, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and daily execution of our nationwide market presence.
- This is not a traditional desk-bound role; we are looking for a leader who understands the pulse of the Nigerian FMCG landscape—from the bustling traditional open markets to the organized retail and modern trade sectors. You must be a "creatively frugal" strategist, capable of delivering high-impact market activations and brand visibility without excessive expenditure.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide total oversight for all sales divisions, including Traditional Trade, Modern Trade, Retail Trade, and Trade Marketing.
- Team Management: Directly oversee and coordinate a high-performance team of Key Account Executives (Lagos, West, North, South/East), the Head of Retail Trade, and Modern Trade Executives.
- Nationwide Sales Execution: Drive product penetration and volume across all Nigerian regions through an extensive network of Territory Sales Directors (TSDs) and Sales Representatives (SRs).
- Frugal Market Activation: Conceptualize and implement innovative, low-cost, high-return market activation strategies to increase brand "share of pocket" in a competitive FMCG environment.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Work closely with the Sales Data Analyst to monitor performance trends, optimize routes to market, and ensure lean operational efficiency.
- Pipeline & B2B Oversight: Manage the Trade Marketing and B2B pipelines across Nigeria to ensure consistent stock depletion and brand loyalty.
Key Reporting Lines (The Organogram)
As the Sales Operations Manager, your direct and indirect reports include:
- Traditional Trade Executives: Covering Lagos, South West, North, and South/East regions.
- Specialized Leads: Head of Retail Trade, Modern Trade Executive, and Trade Marketing/B2B Executive.
- Field Force: Oversight of all TSDs across locations such as Lagos (1–4), Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Ekiti, Ondo, Abuja, Kaduna, Edo, Delta, Port Harcourt, Bayelsa, Calabar, Enugu, and Owerri.
- Support: Sales Data Analyst.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., NIMN) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Must have 12–15 years of progressive experience in FMCG sales, with at least 5 years in a senior management capacity overseeing multi-location teams in Nigeria.
- Traditional & Retail Mastery: Deep, practical experience driving volume through Nigerian traditional open markets while simultaneously managing organized retail/supermarket chains.
- Creative Resourcefulness: A proven track record of "creatively frugal" activations—showing how you have achieved significant market growth using resourceful and unconventional marketing tactics.
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to translate complex sales data into actionable field strategies.
Renumeration
Salary: N1,000,000 - N1,200,000 monthly.
