Job Title: Product Support Sales Representative
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Summary
- Responsible driving revenue by proactively selling parts, service, maintenance contracts (e.g., CTS, REMAN), and equipment solutions to existing and new customers within an assigned territory
Main Functions
- Visiting customers in the assigned Region (old and new), actively selling parts, service, and maintenance programs, as well as seek for regular patronage.
- Sell and implement product support programmes such as CTS, REMAN, SOS, etc on a regular basis.
- Prepare relevant quotations and/or tenders (accurate and complete to requirement), present to customers, arrange follow-up activities as desired, and ensure conversion to effective sales.
- Ensure prompt delivery of parts or services (including backordered items) and corresponding invoices to engender customer satisfaction and early payment as they fall due.
- Preparation and implementation of weekly call plan and corresponding summary report.
- Preparation and updating customers’ profile list.
- Keep abreast of product/service information from Caterpillar and related suppliers, and ensure adequate dissemination to concerned employees and customers.
- Promptly and effectively resolve customer complaints such as to retain their goodwill and confidence in the product, services and the dealership at large.
- Actively involved in the Region’s debt collection drive on an on-going basis.
- Establish and report competitive activities and sales opportunities (for parts, units & service). Implement actions that will ensure prompt and adequate conversion to Caterpillar products & services.
- Implement relevant marketing and promotional programmes as they arise.
- Arrange and implement relevant training programmes for Parts office staff and customer representatives.
- Ensure prudent financial management and adequate maintenance / security of Company assets placed in incumbent’s care by virtue of function and/or location.
Qualifications
- HND / B.Sc.Degree in Engineering with 3 years working experience in similar industry (that is, previous experience in sales of heavy equipment parts, or technical support).
- Technical Knowledge of machinery, parts, and service, especially in industries like Marine, Oil and Gas, mining, or agriculture.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills for building trust and closing deals.
- Ability to drive with a valid drivers' license.
